It’s been a good year for American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson, what with the success of her latest album and Duets, her hit reality show. Now, a good year is about to get even better, because Kelly has been nominated for several Grammy Awards! Fingers crossed that she and her songwriters win at least one of them!
Much of Kelly Clarkson’s recent success has stemmed from the popularity of Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), her latest hit single. After all, the song has topped the Billboard Hot 100 and surpassed all expectations in terms of iTunes sales. The success of the single continued again last night, when Stronger managed to snag not one, not two, but three Grammy nominations. These include nominations for Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year (awarded to Stronger songwriters Jörgen Elofsson, David Gamson, Greg Kurstin & Ali Tamposi).
Despite having her song nominated for three Grammy Awards, Kelly proved gracious as usual during an interview with BBC1. She made a point of complimenting the fellow Grammy nominees, explaining, “Everyone who is nominated is so legitimately talented, like Florence [Welch], Pink, Rihanna…I just love them!” Again expressing her love of the other Grammy nominees, Kelly shared her excitement over an upcoming Florence + The Machine performance, which she has the good fortune to attend. She explained that, Grammy nominations aside, “The best bit [about being famous] is going to see shows.”
Are you hoping for Kelly Clarkson to win a Grammy Award this year? Feel free to share your reaction to the singer’s triple nomination in the comments section below!
