Fleetwood Mac is one of rock’s most iconic groups, loved by fans all over the world. And while frontwoman and American Idol mentor, Stevie Nicks said she’s uncertain where they fit into today’s music industry, they’re gearing up to hit the road for a 34-city tour, “Fleetwood Mac Live 2013.”
According to Yahoo, Fleetwood Mac’s North American 34-city tour will begin on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio. Other stops throughout the tour include, “Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Chicago and a special appearance at the historic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles” to name a few. “Tickets for the first run of shows go on sale beginning December 14 through Ticketmaster.”
Stevie Nicks said, “Whether or not we’re gonna do any more [songs], we don’t know because we’re so completely bummed out with the state of the music industry and the fact that nobody even wants a full record.” She explained, “Everybody wants two songs, so we’re going to give them two songs.”
The group discussed recording a new album but Nicks “wasn’t too into that,” Buckingham said. Regardless, “It wouldn’t matter if they didn’t hear anything new. In a way there’s a freedom to that — it becomes not what you got, but what you do with what you got. Part of the challenge of this tour is figuring out a presentation that has some twists and turns to it without having a full album,” he said.
And depending on how people respond, there may be more to come. Nevertheless, band members are excited about the upcoming tour. “I’m really looking forward to hitting the road with Stevie, Mick, and John in 2013,” Lindsey Buckingham said. “It’s been over three years since we’ve toured together and happily the break allowed me to explore a lot of uncharted territory as well as experience tremendous growth creatively. I’m excited to bring that back to the band. When everyone in FM wants the same thing at the same time, its cause for celebration. Long Live Fleetwood Mac!”
John McVie added, “I’m really looking forward to going back out on the road.”
