The Voice Recap: The Top 4; Who’s Heading To Finals?

December 10, 2012 07:36 PM by Megan Wilson

Here we go!  The top 5 are singing it out this week on The Voice.  Poor Christina has to sit back and relax while the other coaches sweat out the madness!  After some incredible performances last week, it was revealed that Terry, Trevin, Cassadee, and Nicholas were safe to sing another day.  Unfortunately, nothing could save Amanda, who thanked everyone for their support before going back home.  Tonight’s show featured the “Live Semi-final Performances” which included special numbers by Blake Shelton and Michael Buble!

The mandatory Christina Aguilera hair update:  She wore her hair long and wavy under a cute bowler hat!  Michael Buble started out the show by performing, “Baby Please Come Home For Christmas” to the joy of every woman in the audience.  Is it just a coincidence he has a Christmas CD out?  I think not.

First up is Trevin!  Before performing, we all saw Trevin back in his hometown, talking to kids at a local school, inspiring them to stay in school and keep working toward their goals.  On stage he performed “Wind Beneath My Wings”.  Personally, I’ve heard better singers in the local pet shop.  My ears actually hurt during his song.  For some reason, my TV must be out of tune, because none of the other judges really had any criticism for Trevin, and Christina even said she had never sung that song as great as Trevin had.  I’m stumped!

Nicholas was up next and his family in Minnesota had bought a house while he was on the show!  He had a publicity stunt at the Mall of America, and the mayor honored him with a golden microphone.  How fun!  He ended his day by stopping at one of his old performing haunts to play for family and friends.  Go Nicholas!

Nicholas decided to sing “You Are So Beautiful”.  The stage was incredible, with the backdrop being an old abandoned house.  He hit every note flawlessly, and made his family in the audience tear up, ending his performance standing right in front of his son and wife singing the last few lines of his song right to them.  It was SO touching.  All the judges were blown away by Nicholas’s performance, Cee-lo even teared up during his speech.  You could FEEL the emotion when he played.  It was incredible.

Blake took some time out of his schedule to bring back the 16 people on his original team to lay down a track on Blake’s first Christmas album.  They sang “White Christmas”, and what a colorful group it was! (No thanks to the awful Starbucks cups thoughfully placed ALL OVER THE ROOM!!)  They sounded great and seemed to have a wonderful time with Blake recording the song.  In true Blake fashion, he appeared onstage in front of his 16 original team members to perform the song in front of the live audience.  It actually started snowing in the studio!

Next up was Cassadee, and her trip back to West Palm Beach Florida.  Her whole family was waiting to see her at her mom’s, and from there they went to a radio station where she performed her Avril Lavigne cover and received a key to the city!  Tonight she performed “Stupid Boy”, originally made famous by Keith Urban.  Her voice was flawless, along with her incredible dress!  She sounds so amazing live.  My bets are on Cassadee as the winner!  Christina touched on how accurate and beautiful she sounded.

Terry McDermott went back to New Orleans for a visit, and surprised his young son by walking in while he and his mom were decorating gingerbread houses!  After hanging out with the family he went to Hard Rock where he donated a jacket.  His parents flew in from Scotland and surprised him before his performance, making him a crying, sniffling mess before performing.  His reunions were the most memorable and tear filled by far.  Terry performed “Let It Be” by the Beatles.  This song fit him very well, and his stage presence literally took you away.  He hit some incredibly high notes and seriously rocked the place!  Adam even said “Thank God for you, Terry.”  Blake was similarly impressed, saying “That’s sacred ground, man…few artists can sing that song, and you did it…while it’s not scientific, what you just did is musical perfection.”

With voting now open, who do you think America will choose for tomorrow’s elimination??? Let us know in the comments!

Maybe, the reason you’re “stumped”, is because you’re an idiot. Actually that’s not a maybe, you definitely are. Trevin is more talented than all three other singers combined.

Every season, there is a new group of whiny pre-teen fangirls who throws a hissy fit when one of their favorite reality tv stars is eliminated from the show. I am talking about Lolo who called the writer an “idiot” for criticizing Trevin screeching a cliché American Idol song. As for Trevin for being more talented, he didn’t make Itunes top 30 and is another generic R & B singer who would be forgotten by next season.

And if you didn’t spend all day voting for your favorite, it’s your fault that he won’t be in the finals.

You can’t expect anyone to respect your opinion when you spout the same juvenile rhetoric that you disparage in the first place.

Just like the “lololololol” poster, you start your post by directing a defamatory comment toward someone you disagree with and then follow it up with a blunt subjective statement, as if it were fact.

While the “lololololol” poster comes across as brash and rude, you come across as emotional and sassy — like you were having a “hissy fit” of your own.
