Lea Michele ‘Really, Really Happy’ About Dating Cory Monteith

December 11, 2012 09:22 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

The nation’s Gleeks were majorly disapointed when favorite couple Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry broke it off for good. But they can at least find consolation in the fact that the real-life Finn and Rachel are still together. In fact, the relationship of Glee Project stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith is stronger than ever!

It took years of dating onscreen before Lea Michele and Cory Monteith were ready to date in real life, but we’re happy to say that unlike certain TV relationships (ahem, Finnchel), there’s has stood the test of time. Lea gushes about her TV ex and current boyfriend in the latest issue of Marie Claire, explaining, “I don’t even remember a time when he wasn’t my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory. No one knows what it’s been like to go through this more than he does. Feeling like you have that net underneath you allows you to jump higher and go farther.”

Lea adds that Cory’s understanding has led to him being incredibly supportive of her career. “He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

Not only does is he the perfect boyfriend, according to Lea Michele, dating Monteith has extra perks. For example, she loves having her boyfriend as a coworker! Earlier this year, Lea told People, “I love working with Cory, I always have. He really, really inspires me, and he motivates me and I think he’s just so talented. Working with him has been one of the best experiences of this whole process.”

Awww. While we still miss seeing Finnchel, we’re glad that things are going well for Lea and Cory. And who knows — there just might be a return of Finnchel in future episodes of Glee.
