Marc Forgione has created a T-shirt line to raise money for hurricane relief in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. He won season three of The Next Iron Chef on the Food Network joining other fellow champions like Bobby Flay of The Next Food Network Star and Geoffrey Zakarian of Chopped. Now, the celebrity chef has teamed up with designers Peter Yip and Alexander Kim for an apparel line that will donate a portion of the proceeds to charity. All of the details are after the jump!
In response to the devastation and on-going need for help in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, Forgione has created an original t-shirt line to raise money for hurricane relief. For all of the t-shirts sold through the end of the year, Forgione will donate $10 from each individual sale to Island Harvest, the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island. Island Harvest is a Feeding America member food bank on Long Island and has been providing food, support and services to the thousands of residents who have been impacted by Sandy since it hit in October.
The t-shirts are sold individually for $35 or two or more for $30 and can be purchased at Forgione’s website. The organic, American-made t-shirts have Forgione’s signature on the back inside collar and feature the tagline, “I Yell Because I Care.”
Forgione is the chef/owner of Restaurant Marc Forgione in New York City and American Cut at Revel in Atlantic City. He is the youngest American-born chef/owner to receive a Michelin star three years in a row.
