Justin Bieber is back in the news but thankfully, it doesn’t involve a murder plot or the poor kid getting castrated. Instead, The X Factor guest judge is returning to television. Take the jump for more details.
According to Contact Music, ABC is once again discussing the idea of developing a sitcom based on the life of pop star Justin Bieber. The idea was originally discussed last year as a multi-camera comedy and is now being seriously considered for a fall release next year.
The network is currently working on the sitcom as a single-camera comedy according to Hollywood Life and the show would be based on Bieber’s life before he rose to fame. The story line is being described as a family-centric comedy that would follow a “future pop star’s awkward teenage years and his unorthodox family.”
This isn’t Bieber’s first experience with television. He has previously appeared on CSI, hosted MTV’s Punk’d, and starred in the TV special Justin Bieber: All Around the World. But this time Bieber will take on a more important role. He will executive produce the upcoming ABC sitcom along with his manager Scooter Braun and Scooter Braun Films. However, we are not certain if the plans include Bieber having a starring role on the show. A cameo perhaps?
Executive producers Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi are currently working on the script for the sitcom.
What do you think about the upcoming Bieber sitcom? Would you watch a show that was based on his life? And do you think he should make a cameo appearance somewhere along the way? We know you have an opinion so sound off in the comments section and let us know what you think.
