The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Recap: Trouble In Paradise

December 16, 2012 08:15 PM by Megan Thompson

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta is all new tonight on Bravo. The couples are still enjoying the island of Anguilla - one couple even ties the knot! But there is always a storm brewing when Kenya is around!

The episode begins with Phaedra still being pissed about Kenya flirting with Apollo.  Luckily, NeNe is there to punk Kenya out about her relationship with Walter.  “Is your relationship for real?” NeNe questions Kenya. Of course, Kenya defends her relationship with her man – even though she flirts with any man that walks by.  Phaedra sums it up by telling Kenya to put some ice in her panties.

As Gregg is preparing dinner on the grill, Peter tells all the men about his surprise for Cynthia.  He wants to surprise Cynthia with her dream wedding on the island.  Overall the dinner is pretty uneventful, besides learning that Kandi and Todd christened the hot tub the night before.  Of course, we get to hear Phaedra say that she wouldn’t get in that dirty hot tub! Poor Walter looks bored out of his mind and is yawning through the whole dinner.  When Walter tells Kenya it’s time to go, she actually thinks he might propose to her! As soon as they leave the table the rest of the couples talk about what a flirt Kenya is. To say Kenya is disappointed when Walter tells her that Cynthia is going to be the bride and she isn’t – is an understatement.  “When is it my time Walter?  This should be about us!” Kenya whines to the cameras.

It’s a spa day for the women as they get massages outside. All the women are talking about their men and the weddings they had or want to have. NeNe can’t help herself and calls Kenya out about her relationship.  “You don’t look like a couple to me,” she tells Kenya.

All the women are wearing white and arrive on the small island, but Cynthia is still clueless.  “We are doing the wedding over,” Peter tells his bride.  Cynthia is truly touched and is shocked at Peter’s surprise. A teary-eyed Peter tells Cynthia that he wants to give her the wedding she always wanted in Anguilla.  It’s a simple, short and beautiful ceremony that the couple ends with a kiss.  “Why can’t it be my ceremony?” Kenya complains.  To end the night all the couples light lanterns and send them up to the sky.  So all you Peter haters out there – what do you think of him now?

“It was beautiful,” Cynthia gushes to the ladies about her ceremony. All the ladies (minus Kandi) are hanging out by the pool for some girl talk. Porsha admits to Kenya that she has seen a different side to her on this trip.  But then Porsha has to rehash the night of her charity event and she gets heated all over again!

The ladies get into it all over again and they are screaming various insults at each other. You are trash, you are a hood rat, you are a tramp, blah blah blah.  Then Porsha calls Kenya some 40-year old and Kenya goes off about how she is 40 and fabulous.  All Kenya keeps screaming is “you’re irrelevant”, so finally NeNe has to push her away. ”She is a low class whore,” Porsha tells NeNe.  All the girls try to calm Kenya down, but she is way too heated to be rational. “I’m still here and I’m still fabulous,” Kenya says as she does a twirl and then heads to bed.  The episode ends with a to be continued…

I am team Porsha although she seems a little too boring to be on the show. Kenya is a hot mess acting like shes going through menopause or something. Geesh ” put some ice in your panties”…lol

Kenya is so pitiful and jealous of Porsha, that it’s difficult to wait. Kenya was not a good addition to the RHOA. She is irrelevant! Go back to LA Kenya. Maybe you can buy a man there!

I’m with team Porsha I feel that Kenya is not even pretty . She’s trying the other women why was she even added to RHOA ? I agree with Teresa C Kenya is IRRELEVANT I was Porsha would have taxed that butt. Kick that thing Kenya off the show she just don’t belong

I’m Team Kandi because she was in her bed and didn’t have to witness the foolery. Porsha should not have started that conversation and then when Kenya tried twice to drop the subject, she wouldn’t let it go. Yes, Kenya is over the top, but Porsha had this one coming…people need to let things alone.

BTW…I loved how Kenya pointed out that Porsha’s grandfather legecy is from 40 years ago, but it doesn’t make his accomplished irrelevant and out-dated. I feel the same way about Kenya’s MISS USA, but I can’t believe that Porsha didn’t say that she had the title of “WIFE” to get back at Kenya!!

    I am team Porsha.

I agree with Mari P, Kenya is dangerous. I think she is Bipolar. If she don’t get her way she will flip the script. Walter better watch out.

I believe everyone showed a lack of maturity in the fight between Portia and Kenya. First, it was Nene for stirring the pot by asking what had transpired between Kenya and Portia at the charity event that Kenya walked out of. Second, Portia should not have gone into details regarding her fight with Kenya on that same occasion. And third and last, Kenya as usual overreacted to the whole thing. Now that everyone was on good terms, it made very little sense to engage in a rehashing of the whole Kenya-Portia debacle.

Everyone involved showed a lack of maturity and tact. Nene for asking about the fight between Portia and Kenya at Portia’s charity event; Portia for going into details about the same fight and dredging up the whole mess all over again; and Kenya for not letting bygones be bygones. I really don’t think any of these women like to be calm and at peace.

Kenya has a serious problem …constantly saying she wants respect. She said it of the girls and Walter too. Something deep going on there. To me she says too many things that people in love don’t feel or say.

Whats with that Apollo comment about divorce?
