64 artists competing for a record deal, working with 4 of the industry’s biggest stars, and it all comes down to this…. Tonight, on NBC‘s The Voice, with the highest number of votes in the show’s history being cast, a winner was finally crowned. But tonight also marked the last night that see Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera will serve as coaches for a while, as they’re taking a hiatus from the show during Season 4. So what happened, and who walked away with the grand prize?
Not fooling anyone (not us anyway), Rihanna kicked off the show, lip-syncing her way through her hit “Diamonds” — so it was more like “Cubic Zirconia.”
For his “Bring Back” performance, Terry McDermott asked some of his former competitors to join him for “Rock N Roll All Night,” followed by an awesome duet between Nichloas David and the legendary Smokey Robinson.
After Cassadee Pope performed with The Killers, some of our favorite guys from the competition — Dez Duron, Cody Belew, and more — hit the stage with “Stacy’s Mom.”
The newly engaged Kelly Clarkson came to the stage, singing with both Terry and Cassadee, then it was Ms. Pope’s turn for her “Bring Back” performance. For that, she brought back Liz Davis, De’Borah, and Melanie Martinez. An odd group, but somehow, it worked.
Another legend graced the stage during tonight’s finale, when Peter Frampton and Terry McDermott came together to sing “Baby, I Love Your Way.”
As a holiday treat from jolly ole St. Cee Lo, each of the finalists received a new car from Kia Motors, then Bruno Mars performed his new single, “When I Was Your Man.”
For Nicholas’ “Bring Back” song he had Trevin Hunte, Amanda Brown, and Dez Duron help him sing, “End of the Road.” Thank you Nicholas for bringing Trevin back, and choosing a great song!
After Cassadee teamed up with her idol, Avril Lavigne, the coaches took the stage together for the last time (shedding a little tear) to sing Green Day’s “Time Of Your Life.”
And FINALLY the winner was announced…Ms. Cassadee Pope!
What did you think of the Season 3 finale of The Voice? Were you surprised by Cassadee Pope’s win? Are you going to miss Cee Lo and Christina next season? Sound off in the Comments section below.
