Denise Stapley, a sex therapist from Iowa, didn’t have an easy road to the $1 million prize on Survivor: Philippines. She was on a tribe that lost ever single challenge before it was dissolved. Even crazier, Denise is the first person in the show’s 25-season history to visit every single Tribal Council without getting voted out of the game. At the end of all 39 days, Denise found herself at the final Tribal Council where she beat veteran castaway Mike Skupin and teen TV star Lisa Whelchel. Whether you were rooting for her to win or not, Denise, in my opinion, is arguably one of the most deserving winners we’ve ever seen. Immediately after Denise was crowned the champion, I spent some time with her on the red carpet to chat about her experience on the show. Jump inside this article to see our entire one-on-one interview with Survivor‘s latest victor.
Watch the video below to see our full interview with Denise:
A few things about Denise’s victory:
- She is the oldest female to ever win the game at 41.
- She is the third female in a row to win the game following Sophie Clarke and Kim Spradlin.
- She is the 12th woman to win the game.
What do you think of what she had to say in our interview? Are you happy Denise won the game? If not, who do you think was more deserving? What did you think of this season overall? Sound off and leave a comment below!
