That’s a wrap! Season three of NBC’s, The Voice is over. After an exciting season, a winner was crowned and two of the beloved judges prepare to move on to other things. Keep reading for more details.
According to NBC, Cassadee Pope was crowned the winner of the third season of The Voice and won the hefty prize of $100,000 and a recording contract. Pope, 23, originally from Florida, has been trying to launch her solo career ever since splitting with previous pop-punk band, Hey Monday. And her victory has done just that. We can’t wait to hear more from Cassadee!
As Cassadee says goodbye and moves on to pursue her solo career, judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green say goodbye to the show as well.
Aguilera, who just turned 32, is saying goodbye to The Voice, at least for now, to promote her new album, Lotus, which was released last month. And although this is a much-needed creative break for Aguilera, she said she would definitely miss her colleagues.
“First, the coaches, as we have really become one large family,” she told Cover Media. “They are each so special to me and big brothers in every sense of the word.”
But Aguilera isn’t the only judge leaving the show. Cee Lo Green is also leaving to pursue other creative outlets. While he is leaving The Voice, he’s not going far. Green will remain in the NBC family working on a sitcom that is “loosely based” on his life.
Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will remain on the judges’ panel. They will be joined by Shakira, who is taking Aguilera’s spot and Usher will be taking Cee Lo’s chair.
Join us in congratulating Cassadee Pope on her victory and bidding a fond farewell to Aguilera and Green.
What did you think of this season of The Voice? Did the right contestant win? Do you think the show will be the same without Aguilera and Green? And do you think they will come back sometime later? Post a comment and tell us what you think.
