Top Chef Seattle Recap: Don’t Get Foiled

Don’t get foiled! The cheftestants are tasked with cooking dishes using secret ingredients covered in foil paper. For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs head out to the country for one-on-one competition. Season four Top Chef winner and Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chef, Stephanie Izard is the guest judge. Keep reading to find out which chefs wins $10,000 on the Bravo reality TV show!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Emmy and James Beard Award-winning series that is sure to have lots of drama this season! The winning chef will receive $125,000 furnished by Healthy Choice, a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and will earn the title of “Top Chef.”

The competition is heating up as the contestants put their culinary skills to the test. It takes a mix of personality, knowledge and skills to win the coveted title of Top Chef and everyone is eyeing it up!

The contestants are Lizzie Binder from Napa; Micah Fields from Los Angeles; John Tesar from Dallas; Joshua Valentine from Oklahoma City; Kristen Kish from Boston; Brooke Williamson from Los Angeles; Danyele McPherson from Dallas; Sheldon Simeon from Hawaii; Josie Smith-Malave from Miami; Stefan Richter from Finland; and Bart Vandaele from Washington D.C.

For the Quickfire Challenge, the chefs get to pick their own ingredients but as always there’s a twist–all of the ingredients in the pantry are covered in foil. Stephanie, the season four winner joins Padma Lakshmi. In the end, Kristen’s sponge cake dish impresses Stephanie. As the winner, Kristen gets immunity this week.

In the Elimination Challenge, the chefs pair up in a head-to-head battle for a Berry Festival. From gooseberries to raspberries, the cheftestants work to create unique and delicious dishes. Gail Simmons and guest judge Stephanie join head judge Tom Colicchio at the Berry Festival.

At the judges table, Kristen is selected as the winner again! She wins back-to-back challenges this week and $10,000. She says she would like to use the money to visit her birthplace, Korea. In the end, the judges eliminate Danyele McPherson.
