The X Factor Season Finale Recap: And The Winner Is…

December 20, 2012 10:22 PM by Melissa Stavarski

Last night on The X Factor, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, and Fifth Harmony each sang three songs, including duets with LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, and Demi Lovato. Tonight, after three Khloe Kardashian Odom wardrobe changes, countless video montages, guest performances by Pitbull and One Direction, and other mind-numbing filler, the season two winner will be announced!

Apparently, The X Factor is so hugely important, it warrants a red carpet arrival, complete with screaming fans, paparazzi, and a countdown to show time. It’s a little self-indulgent, even for Simon Cowell.

Next, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez tell us that the Top 3 are on stage… only, they’re not.

Instead, the Top 3 sing “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles as they emerge from their SUVs and hit the red carpet. It’s almost as laughable as Harry Styles hair. The obviously lip-synced performance ends on The X Factor stage. Khloe must be peeking at Britney Spears’ notes, as she calls this fancy little number “amazing.”

Carly Rose Sonenclar belts out Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Following her song, Carly says, “It’s pretty surreal. Every day I can’t believe it’s even happening. It’s amazing.” Britney digs deep.. .and says Carly “amazes” her. Mario likes Carly’s dancing Toy Soldiers.

Tate Stevens puts his country spin on The Eagles’ “Please Come Home for Christmas.”

Cue Tate’s hometown video montage… and they’re all calling him Tater. Tate’s mom says, “When that audience explodes for you… all I can do is cry.” And I cry, because I’m weak like that. How cute is she?!? L.A. Reid hopes Tate can “take this thing home.”

Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, and Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony sing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Mariah Carey. Khloe uselessly adds, “You guys started off as strangers and now you’re like sisters.”

RESULTS ALERT: Finishing in third place is Fifth Harmony.

Aww. Too bad, so sad. I guess the girls’ “Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh-oo-ooh!” wasn’t as magical as everyone said it was.

FINAL RESULTS: And the winner is Tate Stevens!!

Tater says this is the best day of his life and thanks the man upstairs, his family, and the country music fans. To end the season, Tate sings Chris Young’s “Tomorrow.”

X Factor looks even worse after voting another ordinary singer winner over a 13 year old protege. America got it wrong!!!

I think the vote is tainted, but maybe with good reason. Simom is not an idiot and knows how to make money. If Carley wins he becomes responsible for, Child labor laws, her well being, schooling, security and any and all child related issues. Tate he goes on and makes money. Now think of this. Britany said to simon “Carley has more talent that all the other competitors combined. Brittany whispering in Carley’s ear when the final is announced and maybe there is a contract extended to include further tutoring and music teaching to a level that most could never afford and in a little while the little girl is not so much in the limelight and when she is older and having her on the road is not so risky, she could reappear and all that tallent has been refined into a brillant gem. Now who is the winner. Both because timeing is critical to making money. I don’t think this was the last time I will see this young lady. Like Simon said ” I believe a star just come out onto the stage”

It plain to see the X Factor has many great future music artist on there hands. Now as for getting it right! I believe that Tate Stevens will have great country music for all age groups to enjoy.Tate Stevens was always dead on, his songs where not boring and the tone of his voice is clear. The words in each song where nice and clear to me that speaks for itself in country music. Simon is a very smart man and as for LA Reed he mentor Tate and listen to
Tate choices that what also counts.Britney as a mentor! She not cut out for that line of work she should just stick to singing.i think the song choices for Carley all ended up sounding the same and boring at the end of the season. In all everyone a winner because they have made it to the end. Thanks for another great year X Factor :)
