X Factor: Simon Cowell Sounds Off About The Judges

December 20, 2012 04:00 PM by Donna W. Martin

As another season of The X Factor comes to an end, Simon Cowell is speaking out about L.A. Reid’s departure from the show and what’s on the horizon for Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Are they coming back? Keep reading for more details.

Recently, we learned that L.A. Reid would be leaving The X Factor at the end of this season. But how does Simon Cowell feel about his departure? According to E! News, Simon admitted, “I’m sad because he’s a friend, but when someone feels they’re neglecting something, which he obviously felt he was, then you’ve got to get someone else in who can give you the time and commitment you need.” Cowell added, “And I’ve never been afraid of change on any of these shows.”

Since Simon isn’t afraid of switching things up and changing the judges, where does that leave Britney Spears and Demi Lovato next season? Will they be coming back? Cowell said, “I don’t know yet, to be honest with you,” referring to Spears. “I haven’t had the conversation with her whether she’d want to [come back next season, or] what other commitments she’s got.” However, when asked if he’d like her to come back for another season, he said, “Yeah, I think I do, yeah. But like I said, and it goes back to L.A., it all depends on how much time they can give us.”

And what about Lovato? We saw an increase of tension and sparring between her and Cowell as the season progressed so does he want to work with her for another season? Simon joked, yes, but “with a muzzle.” Then on a more serious note, he added, “I know she wants to come back, but I don’t like to make predictions. We’ll give it a couple of weeks.”

While Cowell could not confirm that Spears and Lovato will be returning as X Factor judges next season, it sounds like he’s game as long as they are up for it and have the necessary time to devote to the show.

Do you think Spears and Lovato will come back? And should they? Do you think they were good judges? Post a comment below and let us know what you think.

Honestly, I think that Brittany has been the WORST addition to this show!!!
Regarless of how the contestants place in the end if any of “Brittanys” contestants make it through this it is IN SPITE of her assistance NOT because of it!!!
She has not feel for what works with their voices and each time I see any of them they seem to be worse than when they started!!
Carly Rose is amazing yet Brittany has almost ruined her by her choices and poor guidance!!
Demi may very well give Simon a run for his money but at least she is honest and seems to have a clue at continuing someone elses career instead of sabotaging them by giving them poor songs or allowing them to continue with poor choices!
    Just my two cents!

Simon Cowell please get rid of Khloe Kartrashian or your ratings will definitely go down next season it’s obvious she is a terrible host. She has no charisma. She is unsubtle in so many ways; she asks the same dull questions it’s evident she does not know how to interview. She is boring to watch. If you want to boost your ratings you need someone like Catherine Elizabeth “Cat” Deeley, Ryan Seacrest or Carson Daly. Also you need to get rid of Mario Lopez he is a bit of a bore he’s not funny he just doesn’t fit.

Demi needs to go. She is young and unpolished. Also rude. Britney is overpaid and should go. She does not add anything to enhance the contestants and squirms a lot. She does have a nurturing quality though. Khloe Krashdashian is a train wreck that needs to go home to Oh MihDom.

Demi-was honest, good mentor, and don’t pretend that the sparring thing is not needed. They’ve been trying to recreate the simon/paula dust-ups, and Demi is about a close as they’ve got. She should stay
Britney-was horrible. Please add something more than “I’m proud of you sweetie” when asked to comment. She did nothing to sell CR to the voting public, which I found Simon and LA did better. Tell people they should like something and they will. And while I’m no Justin Beiber, she looked like something you see on Toddlers and Tiaras, a washed up former pageant queen turned pageant mom!!
Mario- was great, please bring him back
Khloe- i respect her learning on the job thing, but there has to be tons of people who have paid their dues and deserve a shot at this gig.
Comment-Show made it look like they discovered this no name young talent in CR. She’s been singing on and off Broadway for years, and has done national tour with show. Her and her family are no “innocents” about the biz, and expecting Spears to add anything to her already planned out future is ridiculous.

Brittney was pretty boring and not that great of a mentor.
Khloe is terrible…dresses are not flattering and make her look fatter and she squirms and wiggles around too much.
    Mario was good.
Demi is an immature, spoiled brat and I didn’t like her at all. Very rude and certainly her sparring with Simon, was nowhere close to him and Paula, who you could see were really friends. Demi did not pull that off at all.
