Melissa Rycroft danced away with the mirror ball trophy this season on Dancing with the Stars, so what could more special than that? The Bachelor alum and mom recently dished on her Christmas plans, and what she is looking forward to this year – and it trumps winning a trophy!
What could be more special than winning the mirror ball trophy on Dancing With The Stars? For Melissa Rycroft, it’s her family, of course! Speaking with OK! Magazine recently, Melissa explained that this Christmas is going to be extra special because her daughter Ava (almost 2) will be able to enjoy it more than she did last year. “Last year she was so little, and didn’t understand what was going on. This year, she knows the presents under the tree are for her, and she has already tried to open them,” Rycroft said.
The 29-year-old mom went on to gush that she and husband, Tye Strickland already let Ava open one of her presents, adding: “It’s all so new to her, and it’s so fun to get to experience Christmas through her eyes. Especially because this is the first time she’s going to get to experience it, so this is going to be an extra-special Christmas for us.”
So, what are Melissa’s Christmas plans? Rycroft plans to just enjoy her family. “I’m going to cease to travel for a little bit, turn off the cell phone and enjoy my husband and my daughter. I think we’ll probably stay in our sweats for a couple weeks, and watch TV, and not think about work until the New Year,” Melissa explained. That sounds like the perfect plan for Melissa and her family!
