After nearly three years of marriage and months of speculation and rumors of an impending divorce, the Real Housewives of New York City alum, Bethenny Frankel has confirmed that her marriage to Jason Hoppy is over. Keep reading to get all the details.
According to People, Frankel, 42, first met Hoppy in November 2008 at a nightclub and after an 11-month romance; the two became engaged. At the time, Frankel was seven months pregnant and said, “He’s my anchor. I fell in love with a regular guy with a regular salary.” She added, “He taught me that being taken care of was emotional and not financial.”
However, the fairytale was short lived. According to In Touch, Frankel and Hoppy’s relationship has been in trouble for more than a year. They even spent the summer apart. Bethenny and 2½-year-old daughter Bryn spent 6 weeks of the summer in the Hamptons while Jason stayed home in New York.
At that time, Frankel admitted she was fighting to save her marriage but apparently, it’s a battle she has lost. “It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating.” Frankel said in an interview last week. “This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family.”
“We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority,” the statement continues. “This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us.”
What do you think of Frankel and Hoppy’s split? Did you see it coming? Do you think it was destined to fail from the start? Post a comment below and let us know.
