Taylor Swift has had an incredible year. The Punk’d star graced headlines all year for appearing in some top venues, seeing the end of quite a few relationships, and even had an intruder! But the country crossover starlet is starting 2013 off with a bang. Not only did she rock the socks off New Years Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, but she’s also being honored as one of the most charitable celebrities of 2012.
Taylor Swift took the stage on New Years Rockin’ Eve in New York donning tight black leather pants and a sparkly red jacket. She belted the high notes into a bright red microphone to the screams of thousands of fans singing right along with her. Before taking the stage, Taylor took to Twitter to get her fans excited about her performance. “So excited to be in New York playing on @OfficialNYRE! It all starts at 8pm ET on ABC. Can’t. even. verbalize. how stoked I am for 2013!” She tweeted.
There’s no doubt that Taylor has plenty of awards to put in her trophy case, but Taylor has earned one more to round out her successful 2012. She was named the number one most charitable celebrity for 2012 by the DoSomething.org foundation. Taylor was praised for her “Tireless” efforts to help child cancer sufferers, along with a whopping $4 million donation to the Country Hall Of Fame, which she will undoubtedly earn her place in-as she’s proved a top performer time and time again. She also received the “Ripple of Hope Award” from the Robert F. Kennedy Center. The award is given to individuals who “Demonstrate commitment to social change”.
For such a young artist, Taylor has really gone above and beyond to help others! Way to go, Taylor!
