Is The Taylor Swift-Harry Styles Romance A Publicity Stunt?

January 03, 2013 05:38 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

We were surprised (okay, not that surprised) when, shortly after breaking up with Connor Kennedy, singing sensation Taylor Swift moved on to X Factor and One Direction star Harry Styles. According to recent rumors, the Taylor Swift-Harry Styles relationship (or, Haylor, as some call it) is less than genuine. Is this all just a publicity stunt?

Taylor Swift and her new man Harry Styles have constantly been seen out and about since their relationship began a few months ago. The two appeared to be having a particularly enjoyable time on New Year’s Eve, when they were spotted ringing in the 2013 with a romantic kiss.

But could all the lovey-dovey stuff be a mere publicity stunt? According to some sources, the answer is an equivocal yes. An insider for the National Enquirer claims “Haylor” was, “orchestrated by [Harry's] publicists to cast even more light on the handsome teen pop idol. Little does Taylor know that Harry’s handlers went to great lengths to put the two together because she’s such a huge star.” The source adds, “Anytime Taylor starts dating a new guy she gets a flurry of media attention, and her breakups receive even more.”

Really? Harry Styles doesn’t already get enough attention from legions of screaming girls? You do have to keep in mind that this is The National Enquirer talking.

What do you think? Are Taylor Swift and Harry Styles the real deal, or is this all a publicity stunt? And if it is a publicity stunt, does that mean the “relationship” will be over soon? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!

It is a stunt. Their was a report saying that it’s just a stunt ,and I know it’s true because it said they might be together for New Year’s (and they were) but they won’t be together around Valentines day. (I read that article before New Year’s) Also their is no chemistry, and they never look happy together.

Of course it is a publicity stunt. Does anyone really beieve that these celebrities couldn’t have privacy if they wanted it? Sure, they could. It is important for Swift and her boyfriends to get the press to keep their popularity up. Once a celeb is out of the news for a few months, sales go down. It’s all part of the business. The timing of her relationships is all planned, too.
