With the American Idol season premiere is just a few short weeks away, fans are anxiously waiting to see how the new judges fare. While most of the world is fixated on Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj (who have been reported to be feuding), Country music fans are also waiting to see how superstar Keith Urban will do on the show. In a recent interview, Keith dished about the show, and what drew him to it!
If you’re a Country music fan like myself, chances are that you can’t wait to see Keith Urban bring his expertise to the panel. Fans have also been wondering how the superstar even had time in his busy schedule to fit Idol in, and in a new interview, he explains why he chose to do the show.
“I wanted to do Idol because I love the opportunity to not only help somebody, but when you see somebody come in with raw talent and you know that with just a little bits of shaping and guidance they can totally blossom over the course of the whole series. That’s the exciting stuff,” Urban recently told The Boot, a Country music website.
Urban also believes very strongly in what American Idol represents, as he went on to add: “I think American Idol has influenced the culture in a huge way. The music industry is so influenced by what Idol does. They can take an artist from the tiniest little town and expose them to millions of people, and really slingshot them into stardom.” Keith Urban also noted that American Idol personifies the true American dream, which is exactly what brought him to America.
