Troubled star Lindsay Lohan may just made a bad situation even worse. The Punk’d alum was scheduled to appear in court this morning and once again failed to show up. The good news (or bad, depending on your perspective) is that this Lohan no-show isn’t likely to cause any immediate problems.
Lindsay Lohan may have been scheduled for a court appearance related to a December, 2012 nightclub altercation, but that doesn’t mean the celeb gave any thought to the idea of (gasp) actually showing up. Instead, attorney Mark Jay Heller arrived ready to defend his train wreck of a client. Heller signed all required paperwork on Lohan’s behalf in a court session that proved short and sweet.
Heller later explained that Lohan was not required to appear in court until an accusatory document had been filed on the part of alleged victim Tiffany Ava Mitchell. And according to Heller, Mitchell’s version of the night’s events are all wrong. “From my understanding, Lindsay was being approached by a fortune teller who sought to provide a reading to her and [Lindsay[ politely said ‘I don’t want to participate’ and declined. You would think if [Mitchell] was a fortune teller, she would have been able to see this happening in advance. But obviously her skills weren’t that honed…Lindsay Lohan did not commit any crime, she did not assault anyone, all she did is verbally request her privacy.”
Of course, this story sharply contrasts the one told by Tiffany Ava Mitchell. According to the psychic, Lindsay Lohan refused a free reading, shouted expletives and then punched Mitchell in the face.
Lohan has another court date scheduled for January 15th, during which a judge will determine whether or not the star violated her probation. If found guilty, Lohan faces up to 245 days in jail. And it doesn’t look like the law-breaking celeb will have the option of worming out of this next court appearance.
