Last night, we watched the season 14 premiere of The Biggest Loser, which also brought the return of Jillian Michaels. Tonight was the second half of the premiere, but would the inspiration go sour as the contestants were now facing the dreaded week two curse?
The Biggest Loser returned tonight for the second half of the season 14 premiere, and it was the dreaded week two. But before anything took place, the contestants were visited by good ole Dr. H to receive some bad health news. Jackson was informed that his fat was basically choking him at night, causing him to stop breathing for brief periods, while Michael was given a grim outlook if he did not make changes to his lifestyle asap, as Dr. H informed him that he had the arteries of a 70-year-old man. Scary, especially considering he is only 34-years-old!
We also watched the kids return tonight to perform in another challenge, but this time it was a football challenge with NFL star Antonio Gates. The white team with the help of Sunny wound up winning again, and her school relieved a $5,000.00 grant. Then the kids went through some Biggest Loser testing to see how they stacked up with the majority of children their age, and the results were not good, not surprisingly. I can’t wait to see the positive changes that these three will make this season.
As the trainers were working out their contestants very hard tonight, one trainer decided it was time for a softer approach – Jillian Michaels. Jillian sat down with her team after realizing that her hard attitude was not working with them. The girls had a heart to heart with Jillian, who agreed to push them without all the crazy yelling. While she did prove she had a heart and stopped yelling, we can’t help but wonder how long it will actually last.
The biggest fear of the contestants this week was wondering whether or not they would succumb to the dreaded week two curse. You know, week two is the week that no one loses much weight because they lose so much the first week. After grueling last chance workout, it was time to weigh in again.
This is how the teams did at the weigh in:
Bob Harper’s Blue Team:
Jeff from 359 to 359 (0)
Michael from 423 to 409 (-14)
David from 287 to 278 (-9)
Alex from 231 to 225 (-6)
Gina from 230 to 223 (-7)
Total team loss of 36 lbs
Dolvett Quince’s Red Team:
Lisa from 230 to 225 (-5)
Jackson from 306 to 302 (-4)
Francelina from 248 to 242 (-6)
Cate from 225 to 220 (-5)
Joe from 338 to 326 (-12)
Total team loss of 32 lbs
Jillian Michaels’ White Team:
Pam from 227 to 219 (-8)
Nathan from 339 to 334 (-5)
Danni from 239 to 234 (-5)
Total team loss of 18 lbs
In a nutshell, Dolvett’s team kicked arse once again. It was between Bob and Jillian, but unfortunately for Jillian, her team lost by one pound. There was no yellow line again, just a red line, which meant that Nathan was automatically eliminated. Nathan is adjusting to being home and continuing his healthy lifestyle there. In a romantic end to the premiere, we watched as Nathan proposed to his girlfriend. Something tells us that this kid is in it for the long haul, and we can’t wait to see him at the finale.
