Guess who’s going back to rehab, only to emerge and go straight to jail? Yes, the Punk’d star Lindsay Lohan has finally faced the music in regards to her many legal troubles. In a statement from her new lawyer, Robert Schapiro (Once famous for representing O.J.), it is revealed that she was doled out a 90 day jail sentence, followed by a 90 day stint in rehab. But that’s not it! Keep reading for more details!
It seems that even a famous lawyer like Robert Schapiro couldn’t get Lindsay Lohan off the hook in regards to her most recent charges, but he wants to make sure that she doesn’t just serve her time, but that she gets some real help. Schapiro himself lost a son to a drug overdose, and is making it crystal clear that Lindsay has more needs than just a good lawyer to help her get back to her original successful self.
In a statement released by Schapiro, he addresses Lindsay’s sentence, along with the plan they will employ to ensure Lindsay’s future health: “I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel. Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with. Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety.”
Lindsay already checked in at Pickford Lofts, a sober house run by Schapiro, earlier this week. She will surrender herself Tuesday to begin her sentence.
While we’re all glad that Lindsay is finally facing the consequences of her actions, we can’t help but be skeptical of the latest news. This will be her 6th time in rehab; the last time she was incarcerated she served just under 5 hours.
What do you think of the latest news? Will Lindsay change her ways? Let us know in the comments!
