It seems that the Romney family isn’t wanting to lose any more competitions, including Dancing With The Stars. During the election, the powers that be approached Ann Romney regarding a stint on the show. After a few negotiations, Ann cha-cha’d her way out the door. Why? Keep reading for the details!
Ann Romney was a huge fan of Dancing With The Stars during the election, going so far as to interview a few of the contestants on Good Morning America. She even showed up to the live finale to watch Melissa Rycroft take home the coveted Mirrored Ball, eventually making her way backstage to hang out with the cast. She gushed about the show at the time, saying she was “A huge fan!” and that going to the show with her family was incredibly special. “It was a surprise. We had my granddaughter come with us. And my daughter-in-law, it was her 40th birthday present.” After seeing her in the crowd, rumors started making the rounds that we MIGHT see Romney’s better half compete on the show.
One Mitt Romney lost the election, producers at NBC approached Ann about taking to the stage on the next season, and Ann seemed to be very interested. TMZ reported that she was “Seriously considering” the offer. After meetings with producers, however, Ann decided against appearing on the show. “Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on Dancing with the Stars.”
Personally, I think she would’ve been a fun addition to the show! Too bad. Maybe her family is gearing up for the 2016 campaign already? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
