Katharine McPhee graced the red carpet last night looking amazing. The American Idol alum left paps and viewers alike wondering where this new racy McPhee came from! It seems that the side boob is making a major statement in Hollywood lately, as more and more stars are donning the edgy look thanks to a lot of double sided tape! What did she have to say about it? Keep reading to find out!
When cameras swung to Katharine McPhee last night, many people had to take a second look! She’s a far cry from what we saw on American Idol. The conservative, straight laced McPhee was donning a very cleavage revealing Theysken’s Theory dress, complete with a thigh high slit, which made quite an impression on Ryan Seacrest. She paired the dress with Neil Lane jewels, an Oroton clutch, and a smokey eye. Katharine mentioned to the American Idol host that she was trying to go for something sexy at the Golden Globes, to which Ryan replied, “Well, you’ve accomplished sexy!”
Katharine has evolved quite a bit from her days on American Idol. She now takes center stage in NBC’s hit show Smash, and says that her time on Idol prepared her to make the transformation from Idol winner to fashionista! In an interview with Lucky Magazine, Katharine dished about her plan to win over the crowd on American Idol. “On Idol, I was very strategic with my look. I specifically wore very little makeup, did very little with my hair, I wore beat-up jeans and a simple jacket, and I covered my body up because I knew that viewers like seeing transformation…I wanted to create that story — actually to push the story that I had no idea about fashion — which was not actually true.”
Katharine definitely made a huge impression on viewers last night! What did you think of her dress? Let us know in the comments!
