Kathy Griffin may be a little out there at times (for example: kissing Anderson Cooper’s junk on live TV) but there are a few humanitarian issues that she is really passionate about. The star of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List is an advocate of gay rights and as such, was quite impressed by Jodie Foster’s emotional coming out speech at the Golden Globe Awards.
If you missed the Golden Globes on Sunday, you may still be unaware that the lovely Jodie Foster came out of the closet during an emotional speech. Celebs by and large approved of Jodie Foster’s speech, although a few (namely Zach Braff) wished it would have been a bit shorter.
Perhaps the biggest fan of Jodie Foster’s Golden Globes speech was Kathy Griffin, the notoriously raunchy comedian who is featured on the Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. Following Jodie’s big revelation, Kathy tweeted, “I’m a big #JodieFoster fan, especially 2nite. Her speech tells LGBT youth: America has evolved, b proud of who u are!!” And when asked by a Twitter follower if she had cried during Jodie’s speech, Kathy responded, “Yep, the Jodi [sic] Foster speech got me. Well done Lady.”
Of course, that’s not the only tweet that surfaced on Kathy Griffin’s Twitter page during the Golden Globes. The comedian was clearly busy during the entire awards show. She especially enjoyed Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s announcing: “Tina and Amy acting drunk to talk shit = THE WAY TO DO IT!!!! Hilarious!”
