Last night on The Biggest Loser, the contestants were forced to cut out the junk, and despite having a great workout week, Dolvett Quince’s team failed to put up the numbers needed at the weigh in. When the votes were tallied, it ended up being Cate Laughlan who was eliminated, but Cate assured us today during a conference call that the show was just the beginning of her amazing journey!
Cate Laughlan may have been eliminated from The Biggest Loser this week, but her journey is far from over. Today, Cate spoke with the media about her experience and her life now. Check out what Cate had to say below!
What Cate sees in the mirror now:
“When I look in mirror I see the cate I was always supposed to be. person with no confidence to all the confidence in world.”
What Dolvett Quince was able to do for Cate that she could not do on her own: “Dolvett brought out in me that I was worth it. I never knew how little I really felt about myself until I got there.”
How it feels to now be below 200 pounds (a goal she hit at home):
“That moment was just unbelievable when I saw the scale go down under 200. I haven’t seen the scale that low since, maybe, before high school. I took a picture.”
Why she feels the red team had such a bad week:
“I think it was bound to happen, we had two really great weeks in a row. You just can’t pull great numbers all the time. It was definitely not a reflection of the work we were doing.”
Why she chose to blindly make her elimination vote:
“I could not look at my team mates and pick which one needed to go home. I couldn’t pick one, and when it came up as Jackson I was extremely sad, but I would have been sad no matter who it was.”
The hardest part of her journey at home:
“One of the hardest parts now, is eating enough, which is odd because I never thought I would ever have that problem. It’s not as easy to fill 1,100 calories with good food as it is to fill 2,000 calories with garbage. I am eating a lot of bright, colorful veggies, and lean protein.”
Cate’s interview was short and sweet, but she also said that her favorite moment on the show was when Dolvett told her that he was proud of her. Cate is currently down to 183 pounds, and still has plans on running that marathon!
