Mariah Carey may be hard at work on her first season as an American Idol judge, but the superstar has a job that’s even more important than finding America’s next singing sensation. Her most important job is being a mother to 21-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. But Carey admits motherhood wasn’t always in her plans. Keep reading to find out what she had to say about becoming a mother.
According to In Touch, Carey spoke of becoming a mother and said, “Motherhood is an amazing thing. I never thought I’d experience it.” She explained, “Because my career was my life.”
But she admits all that changed and life went in a new direction when she met husband, Nick Cannon. “When you find the right person, you [want to] go through it,” she said crediting Nick as the reason she became a mother.
And the diva couldn’t be happier. “I’m so in love,” she gushed referring to her husband and kids. “Every moment is incredible.”
As a new parent, one baby can be a challenge but Carey and Cannon were blessed with twins. However, that didn’t matter, together; she and Nick figured it out and have settled into parenthood.
Carey said they are enjoying the different personalities of Moroccan and Monroe. She spoke of her son, Moroccan and said, “He’s my little buddy. We watch movies together.” She adds, “He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way – he’ll give his sister a little tap when she’s trying to give him a hug.” And she says daughter, “Monroe is just a sweetie.”
So how does Carey juggle motherhood with her gig on American Idol? She said, “It’s super difficult [and] really exhausting.” But admits she would rather be working on Idol than in the studio working on new music because it enables her to have a more normal schedule, which helps when you have small children. “You come to work, do your job, and go home like more of a normal person than someone who is in a studio for 18 hours, which would be me,” she said.
What a cute family! Aren’t they the adorable? And what do you think about Carey as a judge on Idol? Post a comment and let us know.
