Nicki Minaj may be a new addition to the American Idol judges’ table but the outspoken diva isn’t shy when it comes to making predictions about what we can expect on the show’s upcoming season. Before the show even premieres, Minaj predicts that the winner of season 12 will be a girl. Keep reading for more details.
According to People, Minaj raved about the girls saying they are “more seasoned, more poised, [and] more professional” this year. “The girls are exceptional,” she said. “I mean, a girl will definitely win this year, I think.”
And Minaj isn’t the only one on the judges’ panel that believes a girl will take it all the way this year. Big Dawg, Randy Jackson agreed with Minaj and said, “Girls, do not disappoint the Dawg. I think it’s the girls’ year.” He added, “There are some talented boys, but I must say, I think the girls could really win one.”
And from the sound of it, he’s rooting for a female winner this season. “We haven’t had a girl winner in so long,” Jackson said.
Fellow newcomer, Keith Urban said the competition was stiff this season, so much so that the judges had a hard time deciding who to send through to Hollywood and who to send home. “All four of us had the conversation ‘what are we looking for’ because we can’t send two million people to Hollywood,” he said.
It sounds like we’re in for an exciting season 12… talented artists, stiff competition, and feuding judges, what more could we ask for?
What do you think of the judges’ prediction? Will a girl win it all? Are you excited about the upcoming season of American Idol? Do you plan to watch the show? Post a comment and let us know.
