American Idol just kicked off its new season, but with all the inconsistency on the panel, is it time for the show to come to an end? Many Idol alumni have been voicing their opinions lately, and one in particular, Jennifer Hudson feels that maybe it’s time for the show to come to an end – while it’s still on top at least. More from Jennifer inside…
American Idol could very well be on its last leg, at least according to some of the show’s alumni. Add Jennifer Hudson to the list who feels that Idol should shut down. In an interview with Celebuzz, Hudson told them: “Everything has its time. I think it should just allow itself to go out on top…and gracefully.” Hudson feels that Idol is past its prime, and with the decline in ratings and constant judge changes, maybe it is time the show ends?
Despite the decline in ratings, it still remains the number one singing competition on television, and Hudson is proud that she was able to be a part of the show. “American Idol changed the face of television. So, not everyone can say that. And, it’s always been a phenomenon. I’m proud to have come from American Idol, so I just say, go out on top,” Hudson continued.
Another American Idol alum, Clay Aiken also spoke out recently about the show, claiming that in his day, he and his competitors were the “stars of the show,” but now, it seems to be “more about the judges,” than the contestants.
Now it’s your turn to sound off Idol fans! Do you think American Idol should quit while they’re ahead? Are you sick of the judge changes? What would you do to improve the show and bring its ratings back up? Commemt and share your thoughts below.
