Last night on The Biggest Loser, we watched as the contestants were forced to go the entire week without their trainers, as the trainers spent the week with the teens spotlighted this season. Despite what seemed to be a breakthrough for her, Pam Geil did not have a good number on the scale, and was sent packing. In an interview with the media today, Pam talked about what she learned, her life now, and what’s next for her.
Pam Geil was nervous heading onto the scale last night on The Biggest Loser, but I don’t think any of us thought that after all her hard work, she would have been the contestant with the worst loss. Despite her elimination, Pam was in great spirits today as she spoke to the media about her experience. The following is a rundown of Pam Geil’s interview.
Pam’s thoughts on overcoming the mental part of it all:
I think when you start on the show, you forget that it is more than just a weight loss journey – it is emotional as well. I wasn’t ready for it at the time. Now, I am glad for the process, and glad I was able to break through those walls. At the time I didn’t understand why Jillian was pushing me so hard, but I am so glad she did. Since we have so much to lose in such a small amount of time, she needs to push you that hard to get you to that place as soon as possible.
How she let herself get to her heaviest point:
Lost my mom in march last year, and since then, I have been the heaviest that I have ever been in my life. I was just in a really sad place – just going through the motions of life. This show has given me my life back. I often wonder if I ever really lived before this show. The process absolutely saved my life and I have no regrets – even with Jillian.
How her expectations differed from the reality of The Biggest Loser:
I know this is probably silly because I am a huge fan of the show, and I have always watched it, but I didn’t think it was going to be as hard as it was. I mean, it’s not just emotionally hard, but physically as well. The workouts were very, very hard.
Pam’s favorite moment on the show:
My favorite moment…aside from my complete meltdown on the scale, was definitely the 5k. I was so proud of Danni and myself, it was such a great moment for us.
What’s next for Pam Geil:
You know, I am determined to become a runner. I honestly can’t believe I never thought running was fun, but it sure looks fun now. I will continue pushing myself to be best person that I can be.
