Glee Star Sued: Mark Salling Accused Of Sexual Assault

January 23, 2013 08:48 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

Mark Salling is best known for playing Puck, the stereotypical bad boy from hit show Glee. He’s also served as a mentor to aspiring actors on The Glee Project. But depending on the result of a current lawsuit, Salling may wind up with a less welcome label: criminal.

Glee star Mark Salling seems to be showing off his inner Puck these days. Court documents filed on January 18th show that the actor has been sued by ex-girlfriend Roxanne Gorzella. According to Gorzella, Salling was guilty of sexual battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress while the two were in a relationship. These charges stem from an incident in which Salling is said to have engaged in unprotected sex with Gorzella, despite her express wishes to use protection. After this occurred, Gorzella says that Salling pushed her to the ground, thereby causing multiple injuries.

While some will be quick to doubt Roxanne Gorzella, she does have one thing going in her favor: a police report filed on March 25th, 2011, the date of the incident referenced in the 2013 lawsuit. But Mark Salling’s rep has dismissed this point and maintains that this is all a plot to score money. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Salling’s rep released the following statement: “There is no truth to this. It’s the textbook case of a disgruntled girl looking to cash in on a TV star’s success. We turn the rest over to Mark’s attorneys and have no further comment.”

Do you think Mark Salling could be guilty of sexual assault? Or are you more inclined to believe his rep’s explanation? Sound off in the comments section below!

I can’t believe some people’s desperation to score money from someone when a relationship ends. If she wanted to be taken seriously, she should have file complaints and lawsuit right when it happened. Waiting this long puts her credibility on the line. I say give $10k to go away and be done with it.

Typical B trying to score on fame why is this even published.

If we fail to take any and every accusation of rape/sexual assault seriously, we risk endangering victims and we support rape culture, whereby a famous actor is presumed innocent because he is good looking and rich while his unknown girlfriend, who should be treated with the courtesy and respect owing a possible victim of assault, is thrown under the bus as “money hungry.” Why can’t we ignore his fame and let our actual judicial process take care of who is innocent? Her waiting does nothing to her credibility because many victims of sexual assault, especially in such high profile cases, feel like the judicial process is similar to a second assault. Brenda, who gave you the right to judge this woman?

I have a hard time believing this. Just because he plays a bad boy does not mean that is what he is. She is going to end up making it harder to prove for other actual rape cases to prove because her credibility stinks. I hope she will be happy with herself. Shame on her.

IF it is true, then like all if not most celebs, they’ll get a slap on the wrist.

I don’t know if this is true or not, but why is it when people with money shove someone, the other person always ends up with multiple injuries? When broke people shove someone they either get shoved back or an @ss whippin.

Why wait 2 years after the incident, and after Glee has become so popular, to file a law suit? I understand that if these allegations are true, they are very serious, and he should be punished. But how is she credible waiting so long and after he’s reached stardom.
