Ali Vincent lost a whopping 112 pounds on season 5 of The Biggest Loser in 2008 and went on to become the first female ever to win the show. Since then, she’s been able to keep the weight off and through her show, Live Big With Ali Vincent, is inspiring others across the nation to get fit too. Keep reading to see what Ali had to say about The Biggest Loser and Live Big.
Ali was 32 and weighed 234 pounds when she began her journey on The Biggest Loser. She started the season competing as a team alongside her mother, Bette-Sue. Unfortunately, they were voted off the show in week 4. But that didn’t stop Ali from reaching her goals. When she went home, she said she listened to what her coach had told her and used it to keep the weight loss going.
As the female contestant who had lost the highest percentage of weight back home, Ali was given an opportunity to return to the show. And when she returned to the game, she was even more passionate than before to be crowned the biggest loser and the first female winner.
Ali described working with her coach, Jillian Michaels. “She [was] really good at her job… it was great, she is a lot more compassionate than I think people get to see.”
At the finale, she weighed in at an impressive 122 pounds taking home the title and the prize.
Today, Ali has her own show, Live Big With Ali Vincentwhere her goal is to travel the country helping others find their true selves and live big. She explained, “I felt so bad about being overweight that is stopped me from living life the way I wanted to, I was living small.” And when she realized she wasn’t the only one who felt that way, she said, “I wanted everyone to be able to feel the way I feel and ‘Live Big.’”
A new episode of Live Big With Ali Vincent premieres Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5:30p/4:30c on the Live Well Network. For anyone who feels discouraged, like they can’t lose the weight or that’s maybe embarrassed or ashamed, Ali said to begin your journey, you first need to “[forgive yourself] and really tell the truth about where [you] are and what [you] want to create, then make a plan.” She added, “Trust me if I can do it, ANYONE can do it… 1 minute at a time.”
