News Flash! Beyonce lip synched the national anthem. At a press conference today for the Super Bowl, the American Idol guest star admitted that performance at the inauguration was indeed a pre-recorded track. What did she say? Keep reading for the details!
Beyonce wowed the audiences at the inauguration, but immediately following her performance, rumors started swirling that Beyonce had faked the number. From not performing with the military band, to pulling out the earpiece-fans knew something wasn’t right. During the conference today, Beyonce confessed that time constraints, delays, and weather forced her to skip the live performance.
In a surprising twist, Beyonce belted out the national anthem live before addressing the press, to prove that she could do it.
“I am a perfectionist and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed, and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show and a very, very important emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments.” Beyonce said. “Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud. So I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry, and I’m very proud of my performance.”
When asked if she will be singing live at the Super Bowl, Beyonce said,”I will absolutely be singing live. I am well rehearsed and I will absolutely be singing live,” Beyonce said. “This is what I was born to do. What I’m born for.”
Do you think that her excuses for not singing live were legit? If Kelly Clarkson could, why couldn’t Beyonce? Let us know what you think in the comments!
