Crystal Harris, star of The Girls Next Door and new bride of Playboy’s Hugh Hefner is auctioning her wedding dress to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Hefner’s longtime secretary, Mary O’Connor who passed away recently. Take the jump for more details.
Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner wed in a private ceremony on New Year’s Eve. And now the newlywed is ready to say goodbye to her beautiful gown for the sake of charity. According to E! News, Crystal tweeted, “I am auctioning my wedding dress with @charitybuzz to raise money for lymphoma in memory of Mary.” Along with the wedding dress, Crystal is auctioning off the shoes she wore during the ceremony.
A statement posted on charitybuzz reads, “Crystal is donating this dress in memory of her good friend, Mary O’Connor. Mary was Hugh Hefner’s longtime assistant of 40 years, and is credited with helping Crystal reconcile with Hef last year, ultimately leading to their recent wedding. Money raised will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Mary’s name.”
Crystal’s Romona Keveza gown is a floor-length mermaid-style strapless dress in soft pink and the shoes are by Aruna Seth. Together, they have an estimated value of $7.500. However, the current bid is only up to $1,350. The auction is set to end on Feb. 11, which leaves 10 days to bid. We hope the price continues to climb. You can track the auction and/or place a bid at charitybuzz.
Mary O’Connor passed away on Sunday afternoon in Sherman Oaks, CA. following a brief illness. She was 84-years-old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
