Demi Lovato On Crutches After Injuring Leg

February 04, 2013 10:00 AM by Donna W. Martin

X Factor judge Demi Lovato, 20, seems to have seriously injured her right leg and is now sporting a cast and crutches. What happened? Keep reading for more details.

On Friday Demi tweeted, “Fibula schmibula…This sucks,” with a picture of her right leg in a cast and a set of crutches. While we don’t have all the details surrounding Demi’s accident, it isn’t hard to read between the lines to get an idea of what happened to the pop singer. TV Guide reports that Demi took a nasty spill at the sober house she’s been living at. “Never, ever, ever, EVER let your roommate clean your hardwood floors with Pledge,” Demi tweeted last week. “Needless to say, today was eventful. Hahahaha.”

Was the floor simply too slick after being polished with pledge or was Demi and her roommate horsing around when the fall happened? Who knows…? Regardless, Demi is staying upbeat about the incident and as it turns out, this is not her first slip and fall. Last week, she tweeted a video showing a compilation of herself taking a sill on stage. She said the clip “never gets old.”

Demi checked into rehab in 2010 seeking treatment for cutting, anorexia, bulimia, and bipolar disorder. She left rehab in 2011 and has been renting a room at a Los Angeles treatment facility (sober house) ever since. While she’s doing much better, sources close to the pop star said she still feels like she needs support and guidance following her stay in rehab. “She takes whatever steps she needs to make sure she stays healthy,” a source said.

Last February, according to the Huffington Post, Demi opened up to her sober house roommate regarding her conditions. “There’s no cure and I may mess up, but I want to be a better role model for my fans and my younger sister. I’m in a much more spiritual place now.” She explained, “I can pray and I have a great support system around me.”

Demi celebrated two years since leaving rehab and remaining “Unbroken” on Jan. 28. Join us in wishing Demi a quick recovery by posting a comment below.
