PETA Slams Beyonce For Superbowl Outfit

February 06, 2013 12:56 PM by Megan Wilson

I’ve been wondering where PETA has been hiding lately.  The animal rights activist group has been mysteriously quiet in Hollywood lately-until now.  Following Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance, PETA issued a statement regarding the American Idol guest star’s outfit of choice.  What did they say?  Keep reading for the details!

Beyonce just can’t seem to catch a break, can she?  After facing a barrage of criticism over her lip sync of the national anthem, she once again has faced the “Not Good Enough” judgement, passed onto her by PETA.  Following the awesome half time show at the Super Bowl, PETA released a statement about Beyonce’s outfit, which was designed by Rubin Singer and included strips of iguana and python skin.

PETA said, “We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés … she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits, or other animals who died painfully.  Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”  PETA has also taken issue with the coat Beyonce wore to the inauguration-a Christian Dior mink.

The animal right activist group did brag on a newly enlisted campaign front man, Terrell Sugs.  The  Baltimore Ravens linebacker has joined up with PETA for a new fur-free effort.  PETA also said,  “The game was great, however, and so is Baltimore Ravens linebacker and yesterday’s Super Bowl champion Terrell Suggs, who has just joined PETA in protesting the fur industry by starring in PETA’s ‘Ink, Not Mink’ campaign.”

Do you think Beyonce’s camp will respond to the statement about her halftime outfit?  Let us know in the comments!

Peta needs to quit being a bunch of twats. Like seriously, why would you go through the trouble of looking up who made her outfit and what it was made out of?

another overpriced, overhyped performer. Thought she did ok at the inaugauration, even if lipped-synced. Her halftimer performance was nothing but special effects. she gets up and gyrates to the music, can’t hear the lyrics, where’s the greatness?

thank you peta. We should all know what goes on behind close doors. It is a really awful thing that animals are going through these days. Such torture and suffering. I just hope more people wake up. I am not judging anyone else right now, but applaud Peta for bringing it up. We need to open our eyes, and not be blinded anymore.

Dear Peta, Here is a newsflash for you: Not everyone shares your views AND / OR even cares what you think. You people are like freakin’ rabid fascists when someone feels differently than you do. Get over it. Get over yourselves.

PETA needed to get some attention ,they have been laying low for quite awhile. They are a useless organization that just scams followers out of donations only to make the leaders rich. This article just proves what scum they are

Just so you know, Beyconce was never on American Idol. You’re thinking of Jennifer Hudson- who was also singing at the Superbowl this year. :)

PETA kills animals are near as humane as they make out to be so when they become something other than hypocrits, maybe peopel will give them some clout. I do not agree with her outfi being made thru the murder of animals. PETA need sto practice what they preach.

Bey just can’t catch a break!! They should go after the designers of these clothes not her. They’re the ones who actually committed the wrongs. Hmph. They just threw Beyonce’s name out there for attention…

PETA, the people who killed over 23,000 animals between 98 and 09. And there kill rate in 2011 was over 95% of the animals they had. If I were a pet I’d rather take my chances in the wild than with the people who are for ethical treatment of me. And what do they do with these murdered animals. I bet they don’t allow them to be eaten by other wild animals as nature intended.

The pro-gun/Bambi-hunting entourage immediately ‘comes out of hiding and—dusting off the PC—throw their daddy’s used, old, and now stiff underwear to the side and attack ANY article perceived as against ways of the good ole boys (young boys and barn cousins that is).
