I’ve been wondering where PETA has been hiding lately. The animal rights activist group has been mysteriously quiet in Hollywood lately-until now. Following Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance, PETA issued a statement regarding the American Idol guest star’s outfit of choice. What did they say? Keep reading for the details!
Beyonce just can’t seem to catch a break, can she? After facing a barrage of criticism over her lip sync of the national anthem, she once again has faced the “Not Good Enough” judgement, passed onto her by PETA. Following the awesome half time show at the Super Bowl, PETA released a statement about Beyonce’s outfit, which was designed by Rubin Singer and included strips of iguana and python skin.
PETA said, “We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés … she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits, or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.” PETA has also taken issue with the coat Beyonce wore to the inauguration-a Christian Dior mink.
The animal right activist group did brag on a newly enlisted campaign front man, Terrell Sugs. The Baltimore Ravens linebacker has joined up with PETA for a new fur-free effort. PETA also said, “The game was great, however, and so is Baltimore Ravens linebacker and yesterday’s Super Bowl champion Terrell Suggs, who has just joined PETA in protesting the fur industry by starring in PETA’s ‘Ink, Not Mink’ campaign.”
Do you think Beyonce’s camp will respond to the statement about her halftime outfit? Let us know in the comments!
