Remember when we reported about the “Swatting” trend that’s been sweeping Hollywood? Well, it seems that one victim of the prank is getting justice. A 12 year old boy was charged yesterday with the prank call that sent officers to Ashton Kutcher’s home, forcing the Punk’d star to leave the set of Two And A Half Men to make sure everything was safe. But that isn’t all that this young boy was charged with-keep reading for the details!
Back in October, authorities received a 911 call from what seemed to be inside of Ashton Kutcher’s home. The called claimed that there were armed individuals inside the premises. More than HALF of Los Angeles’s law enforcement flooded to the house, causing Ashton to leave the set of Two And A Half Men. Once Ashton arrived at his home, it was apparent that he was just the latest victim of “Swatting”. This dangerous hoax is an attempt by pranksters to get heavily armed SWAT teams to enter celebrities homes while using technology to disguise their numbers.
The most amazing part, however, is that this was all perpetrated by a twelve year old boy. Not only did he “Swat” Ashton, but called 911 again a week later to report a bomb at a nearby bank on Wilshire Blvd.
The district attorney’s office said that the boy has been charged with two felony counts of computer intrusion and making fake bomb threats. He was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in juvenile court. They will not release his name or picture due to his age.
Ashton isn’t the only victim of “Swatting”. Chris Brown, Tom Cruise, the Kardashians, and Justin Bieber have also fallen victim to this hoax.
Do you think that this boy is guilty of the other “Swatting” incidents? What do you think his punishment will be? Let us know in the comments!
