Taylor Swift says she won’t be spending Valentine’s Day 2013 hanging on the arm of some guy. No, you haven’t been Punk’d, or, at least, we don’t think so. Fresh off short-lived romances with Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles, Taylor’s ready for a break.
It seems strange for Taylor Swift to be single on Valentine’s Day, but, unless she finds a beau in the next week, T Swift will indeed being flying solo. But being single on Valentine’s Day is not the same as being alone….and thanks to her buddies, Taylor will be anything but lonely.
During a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Taylor revealed that her Valentine’s plans were pretty laid-back. “I’m probably going to be with my friends or rehearsing. I’ll be off in a warehouse somewhere and working on the lighting rig and the lighting cues. And I don’t think I’d rather be anywhere else.”
Despite the whirlwind romances of the past year and her current single status, Taylor says she’s loving 2013. “It’s just hands down been the best year. It’s been amazing it’s been exciting. I got to make a record that’s different than anything I’ve ever done before…the fact I was able to branch out and everybody is embracing it. It feels like the best year I’ve had so far, it’s been wonderful.”
According to Taylor, it wasn’t the boy toys that made her year great. Instead, the honor goes to a close-knit group of friends the celeb has managed to develop. And these friends are honored in Taylor’s latest single. “I wrote about my friends. I’ve got, finally, this amazing group of girlfriends and we tell each other everything, we’re together all the time. That was kind of the marker of me being 22 is having all these friends. There are a lot of question marks in your life like where you’re going, who you’re going to meet, but the one thing you have is you have each other.”
Nice sentiments from Taylor Swift, but really, we’re expecting the talk of friendship to go out the window again once the singer has snagged herself a new male victim.
