The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Recap: Miss Renaissance Is Crowned

February 17, 2013 07:21 PM by Megan Thompson

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta is all new tonight on Bravo.  Bust out the sashes and crowns, because The Bailey Agency is hosting its first pageant.  Since Cynthia kicked Portia to the curb, who better to help with the pageant than a former Ms. USA?

Kenya stops by The Bailey Agency to chat with Cynthia about her upcoming pageant.  Since Porsha is no longer involved with the pageant, Cynthia is stressing about all the work she has to do. The former Ms. USA offers to be a judge for Ms. Renaissance, and Cynthia quickly agrees, but not before bashing Porsha for a couple of minutes.

Now that Porsha isn’t working on the pageant, she is spending more time on her charity.  “I want to have a baby, but I don’t want to put my career on hold,” Porsha shares with Kordell.  Let’s just say, Kordell isn’t pleased with his wife’s ambitions.  He wants his woman at home 24/7  with him and his future babies.  Porsha tries to convince her husband they can just get a nanny, but Kordell isn’t having it.  So Porsha decides to borrow her brother’s baby to prove to her man she can truly have it all.  Oh -this should be good!

Its a couple’s night in for Kandi, Phaedra and their men. Phaedra has hired a celebrity chef to cook a meal full of aphrodisiacs. The chef has quite an opinion on what mussels look like.  ”Every time I eat mussels I think about vaginas,” the chef announces.  Of course, Kandi isn’t fazed by anything sexual!  When they sit down for dinner they star discussing their upcoming girls trip to LA and Vegas.  The girls’ want to check in on NeNe and then get crazy in Vegas.

Ms. Hollywood is back in Atlanta for a little while, so Cynthia stops over for some gossip.  “It’s hard, I have to read a lot,” NeNe complains to her friend about her acting gig. When Cynthia tells NeNe about hiring Kenya for the pageant, Cynthia thinks she is a darn fool.  But then NeNe convinces her friend that her pageant will be successful – and they cheers to Ms. Renaissance.

There are a ton of young girls, sparkly dresses and a lot of hairspray – it’s The Ms. Renaissance pageant.  Cynthia is off to a bad start when she picks up her host, some random actor, and he isn’t wearing a suit.  To her defense, he looks way too casual to crown a pageant queen.  “I couldn’t be more excited, it’s like a homecoming to me,” Kenya boasts.  Kenya even busted out her official Ms. USA sash to look official. The girls start strutting their stuff, but the script is all out of order and the host is announcing the wrong names! But the pageant goes on and the girls don’t miss a beat.  Finally, it’s crowing time and all the contestants take the stage.  The winner is announced and she does the typical tears and hands to the face.  ”Ms. Renaissance is a real pageant, I’m legit,” Cynthia boasts.

What did you think of tonight’s RHOA?  It was rather boring, so let’s hope the ladies step it up on the girls’ trip!

I find it interesting that the young lady Kenya brought to the agency won the pageant and also that Kenya was a judge. Seemed biased to me. For that, I do not trust the Bailey Agency. Parents may want to tread lightly after watching last night’s episode.
