The Biggest Loser Recap: Team Work Pays Off, Or Does It?

February 18, 2013 09:17 PM by Lisa Princ

Last week on The Biggest Loser, it appeared that the game play began, as Michael Dorsey, one of the biggest threats in the house, was eliminated by his former team mates. But was it betrayal, or a romance starting?

After Michael’s elimination last week, Jeff felt the need to defend his decision tonight on The Biggest Loser, and he revealed that he and Francelina have a bond. Hmm, is there a romance blooming on the ranch? Then, Alison Sweeney revealed that immunity was on the line tonight – for the entire house – if they could lose a total of 70 pounds. And to help them out, the kids were brought in to compete in a pop challenge. For each correct answer, the contestants were given a one pound advantage. The kids did great, and earned an additional 9 pounds for the contestants.

Cue a quick update on Nate, who was eliminated in week two. Nate has lost 90 pounds and counting, and looks fabulous. Back to the gym as a blowout began to take place – or tantrum, however you look at it. Gina threw a fit and walked out when Joe joked that he did not like lawyers – oye. So after whining for a while, Gina ended up with a personal trainer for the day – Dolvett. Meanwhile, Jillian decided to focus on Alex, who needed some one on one. And then Gina walked out again, fueling Jillian to blow up.

Jillian decided to find out what is going on with Alex, who claims that she is sick of never being good enough. But Jillian is desperate to make her realize that she needs to focus and stop rebelling. Bob Harper granbed Gina’s ear to try and find out what her issue was. Gina vented to Bob about Joe’s comment, and of course she ended up in tears. Is anyone else sick of her whining?

At the challenge this week, the contestants were digging in huge sand dunes to find clues to get them to a flag that they needed to place on a pier. At the end of the challenge, with little time left, Gina took a tumble, and low and behold, who came to her rescue? Joe! The teamwork paid off, and the entire group won a 10 pound advantage on the scale. Now, they only needed to lose 51 pounds total for immunity. Then, the trainers and the contestants formed some bonds while walking on a wire, literally! It definitely helped some of them trust one another better.

After an intense last chance workout, this is how the contestants fared this week:

Jeff from 312 to 308 (-4)

Alex from 198 to 195 (-3)

Gina from 184 to 180 (-4)

Jackson from 266 to 261 (-5)

Francelina from 213 to 211 (-2)

Joe from 279 to 273 (-6)

Danni from 201 to 194 (-7)

Needless to say, the group did not get anywhere near the 51 pounds that needed, despite their team work. That also meant that Francelina was the contestant who fell below the red line, and would be sent packing. Jeff was more upset about Francelina leaving than Francelina was! He referred to her as “his rock,” leaving us wondering again if they are more than friends.

Francelina is doing well at home, and is down over 70 pounds, as she is now in one-derland. Francelina is also going after her dream of being a doctor, and she did reveal that she and Jeff are now dating!
