The Bachelor’s Sean Lowe Defends His Decision To Send Desiree Home

February 19, 2013 09:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Last night on The Bachelor, Sean Lowe made his way to the hometown dates with his final four ladies, but by the end of the evening, Desiree was left heartbroken as she was sent home. Devastated fans are still fuming over the rose ceremony, but Sean Lowe is still defending his decision today. What did he say about it?

Poor Desiree. As if dealing with her brother’s antics last night on The Bachelor, was not bad enough, Sean Lowe added insult to injury, breaking her heart. He chose not to give her a rose, despite the fact that she pulled him aside to offer a tearful apology for her brother’s behavior. Sean commented to the cameras that he needed to keep the woman that he would miss the most, as he left the room to think it over. Apparently, Sean decided that he would miss Catherine more than Desiree.

When he walked her to the car, she cried as she told him that he was definitely making the wrong decision, and she was certain that he would eventually regret it. Sean Lowe definitely looked like he was unsure of his decision last night, but today he seems like he is confident that he made the right choice.

After the show aired, and likely annoyed by angry viewers, Sean took to Twitter to reiterate of his decision: “She was great, but I am choosing the one for me. Incredible woman, but not my wife.” He then posted a goodnight message to everyone, even those calling him “an idiot,” as he claimed that was nothing more than “Bachelor juice talking.” Hmm…no, we’re certain that they are some folks out there who definitely think he is an idiot – are you one of them?

Time to sound off! Do you agree with Sean Lowe’s decision last night? Should he have sent someone else packing? Comment below to share your thoughts with us!

Sean, did the right thing, like he said, he didn’t want to have to put up with her brother, make waves in the family while they are still trying to get to know one another after the show is over.

Desiree should blame her brother for it. Her brother really blew her chance with Sean. No one in their right mind would want to deal with a date’s brother like that.

She was too good for him, and a real man would not have allowed his girlfriend’s obnoxious brother to get in the way of his romance. Maybe Sean didn’t really care for Des, or maybe he’s just a wuss. Either way, she deserves better.

I don’t really blame Sean for not wanting to deal with Desiree’s brother, when you marry someone you also marry their families to a certain degree. It’s unfortunate that Des didn’t exert some greater control over her brother’s behavior, if nothing else simply not have invited him over to meet Sean! I can’t help but believe that if Sean truly had strong feelings for Des, etc. he would not have let her brother solidify his decision to send her home.

I would NEVER allow a family member to stand in the way of my love for a woman. Desiree has always been my favorite, and from what the producers have allowed us to see, in my view she is by far the best of the bunch. Not only her great looks and super attractive personality, she is obviously a very successful woman who has done very well for herself after coming from a family of meager means. That shows her to be a strong woman. But in the end, falling in love is all about an emotional connection – something that Sean apparently didn’t feel with Desiree.

I think he made a big mistake.
