Howard Stern is usually known for putting down other celebrities. But not this time! The shock jock and judge on America’s Got Talent spoke on the Clive Davis/Kelly Clarkson feud, and had nothing but good to say about Kelly! Surprised? So are we! Keep reading for the details!
The war between Clive Davis and Kelly Clarkson started when Clive released his memoir, The Soundtrack Of My Life. Kelly has taken quite a few issues with what Clive has written about the American Idol winner. In her blog earlier this week, Kelly came out to defend herself. She said that Clive claims Kelly burst into his office “Hysterically crying” over the fact that Clive DEMANDED that “Since U Been Gone” be on her album-which she vehemently denies. She said she cried because he hated “because of you” and told her that she was a bad writer who should’ve been “Grateful” for the gifts he bestows upon her. Either way, Howard Stern seems to side with Clarkson on the matter. So much so, that he defended the singer on his show. He said, “I always find it sickening when management guys like to set the record straight about how f–king creative and what geniuses they are. And, like, this guy’s trying to diminish what she does? Doesn’t he have enough in life? Can’t he sort of tell his story without f–king degrading her and putting her down?”
Clive has already tried to defend himself, saying that he’s got other people “Fact checking” his book. He claims that before the book was published, he had every fact checked over by five “Independent individuals” who were present on a daily basis throughout the whole ordeal. Clive also claims that the chapter about Kelly was verified by each of those people. But really, if you ask five of your “Independent” friends what they think, they’ll probably side with you anyway.
Either way, Howard think that the slams just aren’t worth it. “I think she has an amazing voice, and the girl has worked hard to get to where she is,” he said. “I don’t understand Clive Davis’ motivation for knocking this chick down.”
Who do you think is telling the truth in the matter? And who took Howard Stern and replaced him with a nice guy? Let us know what you think in the comments!
