In December, we learned that American Idol guest star, Janet Jackson, 46, was officially engaged to billionaire Wissam Al Mana, 37, and that a wedding was expected as early as this spring. But that’s not the case. There will be no spring wedding because the happy couple have already exchanged their “I Do’s” in a private ceremony. Keep reading for more details.
While most things in a celebrity’s life are all about being in the spotlight and the glitz and glamour, Janet Jackson and fiancé Wissam Al Mana proved that sometimes the opposite is best, that some things are best kept private and savored with those you love.
According to Rolling Stone, while everyone speculated about the couple’s nuptials and how expensive the ceremony would be, they secretly made plans for a more intimate affair choosing to keep things quiet and private.
We’re not certain of the exact date but Jackson and Al Mana wed last year. And while they have shared the happy news, they have asked that their privacy be respected as they celebrate and enjoy their new lives together. And as far as a lavish multi-million dollar wedding, they confirm that there wasn’t one. In fact, the couple didn’t even exchange gifts but rather opted to donate money to each other’s respective favorite children’s charity instead.
This is Jackson’s third marriage. She was previously married to James DeBarge in 1984 and Rene Elizondo from 1991 to 2000. Coincidently, her marriage to Elizondo was also kept a secret at first.
Join us in congratulating the happy couple!
