Keith Urban Is Confident That A Female Will Win American Idol This Season

February 26, 2013 10:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Apparently, Carrie Underwood is not the only one who thinks it is time for a female to take the crown on American Idol, after numerous seasons with male winners. In fact, new judge Keith Urban is pretty confident that we may see a female winner this season!

Keith Urban knows talent when he sees it, and what he sees this season on American Idol are a few potential female winners. Keith Urban recently spoke to Hollywood Life, where he revealed that he definitely thinks it is the year that we will see the guys’ winning streak come to an end, adding that this season: “The girls are stronger. I don’t know why that is. It’s just one of those things.”

However, Urban is not discounting the strength of the guys, but like most us, is just ready to see a girl win for a change. So, who does he think could possibly take the crown? Among his favorites is Kree Harrison, who he even compared to Adele. “Kree is an extraordinarily gifted singer in an unusual way because she’s so effortless in the way she sings,” Urban gushed.

Keith Urban also dished on the panel, where he shockingly revealed that out of all the judges, he seems to have clicked with Nicki Minaj the most, because she tells it like it is. Now that seems like an odd pairing, don’t you think?

Do you agree with Urban that a girl could win this season? If so, who do you think could take the crown? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it. Comment below to share your thoughts with us.
