Julianne Hough and her brother, Derek know all about the world of dance. And now, the Dancing With The Stars pros are teaming with the cable channel, Starz to create a new dance show series called “Blackpool.” Keep reading for more details.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the new show will revolve around the annual ballroom competition in Blackpool, England and will seek to expose what really goes on in the world of international competitive ballroom dancing.
Blackpool promises to shock as the politics and scandal behind the dance including the dancer’s obsession for perfection and the darker side of the dancing world are brought into the open for all to see. Viewers can expect an intimate look at everything from the dancer’s story and how their partnerships intertwine to sex scandals and love triangles.
Both Julianne and Derek are excited about their new venture. They will executive produce the show and serve as choreographers. Julianne said she and Derek are thrilled to be working with Starz for the new show. “We feel that their passion and the style, and quality of their programming provide the perfect environment to capture the true essence of this world that Derek and I know so well and means so much to us.”
“Viewers are going to see a twisted, sexy, funny, dark, and passionate side of the drama and politics in the world of ballroom dance that delves deeper than spray tans and sequins,” Derek added.
