The Face Recap: Kleinfeld Bridal Campaign

February 27, 2013 05:29 AM by Donna W. Martin

On tonight’s episode of Oxygen’s, The Face, airing on Tuesdays at 9/8c, the 10 remaining models duked it out in a quick change challenge before taking on a bridal campaign. Who was able to keep their poise and composure? And who took a tumble? Take the jump to find out.

Test Shoot – Quick Change Challenge

This week’s test shoot was all about the speedy quick change. While being timed, the models had to choose an outfit, grab an accessory, get dressed, walk the runway, and strike a pose while not messing up their hair and makeup. The model with the quickest time won a $5,000 shopping spree to Marshalls.

Zi Lin was first up and set the time to beat at 1:18 but was quickly bumped by Devyn at 1:09, who held on to the leading time until the very end when Margaux beat her by two seconds at 1:07.

Devyn was a bit of a sore loser arguing that she should have won because Margaux edged the corner coming out. But Nigel and Karolina disagreed and declared Margaux the winner.

Later, Marlee was upset about financial difficulties at home. Coco went to talk to her and Marlee decided it would be best if she left the competition to take care of things at home. After Marlee’s departure, three girls remained on each team.

Kleinfeld Bridal Campaign

This week’s campaign was a Kleinfeld catwalk bridal fashion extravaganza at the New York Theatre. Not only did the models have to wear wedding gowns, but to make things more difficult, they had to walk down a flight of stairs, walk the catwalk, strike a pose, and then exit back up the stairs in front of Kleinfeld’s Fashion Director, Terry Hall and a live audience. Each audience member later cast one vote each for their favorite model. The team with the most votes was the winning team.

The models met with their coaches and practiced walking the stairs in heels. Sandra almost took a tumble and started to cry telling Naomi she couldn’t walk in those shoes.  Stephanie from Team Coco was scared because this was her first runway show. And Margaux slipped and nearly fell down the stairs just before show time.

Stephanie – did a good job and didn’t even look at the stairs.

Brittany – was awkward and looked down at the stairs as she walked.

Margaux – fell at the top of the stairs on her way back up.

Ebony – stumbled on the way down and then held the rail on the way back up.

Madeleine – stepped on her dress on the way back up the stairs and held the rail.

Devyn – did a good job and had nice facial expressions.

Jocelyn – was a bit stiff.

Sandra – pulled it together and poured on some swag.

Zi Lin – wore a heavy, full-bodied dress but handled it well.

After the show, Kleinfeld’s Fashion Director, Terry Hall met with Nigel and the coaches to discuss the models. He was able to remember all of them when delivering critiques except for Brittany. But in the end, it all came down to the 55 audience votes. Team Naomi won with 34 votes.

Later, Nigel met with the models to deliver the news. Then Karolina and Coco had the tough task of choosing one of their girls to put up for elimination. Karolina chose Ebony and Coco chose Brittany.

Decision Time

As the winning coach, Naomi chose who would remain in the competition and who would go home. Both Ebony and Brittany made the mistake of playing the sympathy card as a way of trying to sway Naomi to keep them and send the other one home. But she let them know everybody has a story and trying to play on her heartstrings wasn’t going to work.

In the end, Naomi chose to keep Ebony and sent Brittany home.

Yes, Naomi made the correct decision in sending Brittany home. Brittany was uncomfortable and came across as a naive on the runway, clearly over doing her poses.
It’s about time someone told these reality queens that EVERY one has a story…….its just so predictable and silly, and it never works with the audience.
