Recently, ABC released the season 16, celebrity cast lineup for Dancing With The Stars, one of which is country music singer, Wynonna Judd. But Wynonna, 48, didn’t join the show before talking with good friend and DWTS all-star, Kirstie Alley, 62, for advice. Keep reading to see what Wynonna had to say about joining the show and getting advice from Kirstie.
According to US Weekly, Judd has decided it’s time to take care of herself and says joining the show is going to help her do it. “This is a great diversion for me,” she said. “It will force me to take care of myself,” which is something she has neglected since her husband, Cactus Moser’s motorcycle wreck and subsequent leg amputation last fall.
Following Moser’s accident, Judd went into caretaker mode letting her own health take a backseat while she tended to the needs of her husband. But now she’s ready to take care of herself too saying she deserves to be healthy and she’s worth it.
Before joining the show, Judd talked to friend and DWTS all-star, Kirstie Alley many times. She advised Judd to have fun and to do everything with her heart. Then, she said, losing weight and getting in shape would naturally follow.
While Judd is using the show to take care of herself, she says it’s not all about size and numbers. She admits she has a competitive side too and is looking forward to showing it.
Judd is partnered with all-star, Tony Dovolani.
