If you been following the latest season of The Biggest Loser, then you know that the show has been doing their part to tackle childhood obesity, which included the addition of three teen contestants this year. Yesterday, we spoke to Sunny Chandrasekar, and today it was Lindsay Bravo’s turn to chat with us. And let me tell you, just from Lindsay’s voice alone we can tell you that she is a brand new girl!
Childhood obesity is one of this season’s themes on The Biggest Loser, and we’ve watched three special teens deal their weight issues. Among them is Lindsay Bravo, who is only 13, but was diagnosed with the body of a 39-year-old – yikes! RTVM caught up with the superstar teenager, and the happiness just oozed out of her – to the point that we could instantly tell she has made a great change. Check out Lindsay’s interview below!
Lindsay on her overall experience with The Biggest Loser: My experience has been awesome. All of the contestants are really good people. They are motivating, and they knew exactly what we kids were going through. I made a great connection with Jackson, as we have both suffered from bulimia, and he has been so supportive and great. Francelina…she hit it off wonderfully with my mom. Everyone there has been wonderful.
How she feels to be such an inspiration to teenagers everywhere It is such an awesome feeling. I have friends, and kids at school that look up to me now. I mean, they are looking up to a person their own age, who has been through so many challenges. It’s just an awesome feeling.
Lindsay’s thoughts about her fear of Diabetes
You’ll actually find out later on in the show whether or not I test positive for Diabetes. I mean, I had pre-Diabetes, which is scary. I was like “Hey! I am only 13-years-old and have the body of a 39-year-old.” I was really exhausted all of the time. Now, thanks to the Biggest Loser, the trainers, nutritionists and doctors, I get to be a normal teenager.
The toughest part of the whole experience for Lindsay:
My biggest struggle was exercise. My body was really weak. And having the urge to eat everything in sight. The whole thing has been awesome. I even have friends tell me now, “I can’t believe you want to run another mile,” after I have already ran one. Now, I take my frustrations out with exercise instead of eating.
Lindsay’s dream to become a cheerleader:
I am still shooting for that dream. I plan to try out for the high school cheerleading squad. Since The Biggest Loser has given me the opportunity to cheer with the team, I am doing gymnastics now. I even learned how to do a cartwheel, the correct way!
Lindsay’s best advice for other teens struggling with obesity:
At first you might feel like you are starving, but you need to get used to eating proper portions. Everything can be done in moderation, especially if you are on the red light green light eat right program. My favorite snack is chocolate covered pretzels, and since they are only 100 calories per serving, I can have them everyday. Also, put your mind to it and you will succeed.
Lindsay also said that she always tries to make exercise fun. She shared her gratitude to The Biggest Loser and the entire staff for all their dedication and help. Lindsay also thanked the fans for cheering her on all season, and she promised us that we would see a brand new Lindsay on makeover week this Monday!
Be sure to tune in next week to check out Lindsay on makeover week! We can’t wait!
