X Factor guest judge, Justin Bieber outraged fans at London’s O2 Arena on Monday when he arrived two-hours late for a concert. Or did he? While his adoring fans were expecting him to take the stage around 8:30, that didn’t happen and they were made to wait until after 10:00 before the pop sensation finally arrived and started the show. Were they simply mistaken about the time the Bieb’s was supposed to take the stage? Keep reading for more details.
According to US Weekly, Bieber said he was scheduled to hit the stage at 9:35, not 8:30, following three opening acts. But due to technical difficulties, he didn’t make it onstage until 10:10. “I was 40 minutes late to the stage,” Bieber tweeted. And he was quick to apologize to his fans for the delay. “There is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone who was upset,” he wrote.
He went on to say he respected his fans and would never intentionally try to upset or let them down. Following the delay, Bieber said the show was great, he was proud of his performance, and looked forward to the following night, promising night 2 at the O2 would be even better.
While there were rumors that waiting fans grew impatient and booed Bieber’s opening acts, an insider who was in attendance at the concert said that simply wasn’t true and backed Bieber’s account that he was supposed to take the stage at 9:30 instead of 8:30. “He was not supposed to go on until 9:30 and he went on just after 10. He wasn’t two hours late [and] there was no booing.”
