Taylor Swift doesn’t mind being Punk’d by MTV, but when it’s an unexpected joke at an awards show, well, she’s not as enthused. She recently spoke out against Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the two ladies who couldn’t resist a good T Swift joke during the Golden Globes.
It sounds like Taylor Swift’s not too happy about being featured in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s jibes at the Golden Globe Awards. For those who missed the special moment, Tina warned Taylor to stay away from Michael J Fox’s son. Keep in mind that this took place right after Taylor had broken up with One Direction’s Harry Styles. After Amy Poehler suggested that the boy-crazy celeb just “go for it,” Tina explained why that wasn’t such a good idea. “She needs some ‘me’ time to think about herself.”
Taylor was allegedly in the restroom at the time of the joke, which is why we were unable to get an immediate reaction. But thanks to Vanity Fair, we now know just how annoyed she was by the incident. In her Vanity Fair interview, Taylor recalled a bit of valuable advice she’d gained from her friend Katie Couric: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
Ooh, that’s harsh. Of course, what we really want to know is, how long before Taylor Swift includes Tina and Amy in a song? Obviously, if she actually takes stock in Katie Couric’s quote, that won’t happen, but hey, you never know with T Swift.
Do you think Taylor’s response to Tina and Amy’s Golden Globes joke is reasonable? Or is she overreacting? Sound off in the comments section below!
