Duggar Burger Bill Shocks At Over $600

March 13, 2013 09:17 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

In today’s world, it’s expensive to raise just one or two children. But multiply those costs by 19 and you’ll rack up a huge bill everywhere you go! Such was the case when, on a recent outing, the Duggars went out for burgers. The 19 Kids And Counting family managed to spend over $600 — and that doesn’t include tips!

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar spend a lot of money on food. And we mean A LOT. Although a few of their 19 kids have technically left the nest, they still join making a point of breaking bread with the family.  Even without these older Duggar children, there’s still plenty of rumbling tummies when mealtime rolls around. Since food bills add up quickly, the Duggars typically make a point of emphasizing frugality in their everyday lives.

The Duggars do enjoy the occasional special celebration, so, when the family traveled to New York to promote an upcoming TV special and announce the arrival of a third grandchild , they wound up splurging at the popular Bill’s Bar & Burger in Manhattan. And splurging for the Duggars is a little different than splurging in a smaller family. By the end of the evening, the family had managed to rack up a bill of $614 — and this did not include the tip which, knowing the Duggars, was likely higher than the recommended 15 percent.

The crazy thing is, this massive Duggar burger bill could have been a lot worse. Several of the kids qualified for discounted kids meals, which at roughly $8 a pop are pretty reasonable for New York. Even the adult menu was relatively modest for Manhattan, with burgers starting at just under $8 and fries costing an extra $4. But with a party of 23, it all adds up quickly. Good thing the Duggar family didn’t go out for steak!

I am tired of hearing about how much this guy can’t keep his pants closed, or her leggs crossed. Why not spend some moneyand alot of time with kids that have no dinner at night, or someone to take them out to eat. Your one of the biggest fools and propaganda for no child birth control methods I have seen inyears. Media takes alot of time showing a hambuger joint you spent $600 to feed them. Just what I could do with $600 to feed the poor in this contry, especially the kids in this contry. lay off the media and do some real good.

That’s still averaging $23.00 per person, which isn’t a bad meal.

The Duggers do not pay for anything when filming and traveling for their show. The show picks up the tab – airline tickets, bus tickets, hotels, food, and shopping for special items. Please do not mislead the public by letting them think the Duggars pay all these costs themselves.
